I have not been publishing a daily blog post about my waking at 5am journey the past few days so this is yet another one to cover a 3-day period. I stayed up way too late on Monday and Tuesday nights and, as a result, struggled with getting up early and did not complete my Hour of Power as intended.

Getting to bed at a decent hour (10p-11p) is absolutely key to make this work.
I guess the definition of 'decent hour' is relative, but that is what works for me.

Today I was back to it with my 5am wake-up time and it is amazing to me how much better I feel: physically, mentally and emotionally, on the days that I wake up early. It is funny because you would tend to expect the opposite. You would think waking up so early would just be exhausting all day long, but I find it to be very empowering and invigorating. Tuesday and Wednesday were 'blah' days compared with all of the other days I've awakened by 5am.

I am continuing to read Kody Bateman's book 'Promptings' and it has really been inspiring my thoughts and actions in a variety of ways. Today I was introduced to the infinity symbol as it would relate to our inner promptings (who we are) and our outer promptings (what we do with who we are). I've seen the infinity symbol before, of course. Yet the way he uses it to describe a continuous stream of energy flowing through us was very enlightening.

He also illustrated the if we get hung up on just one side of it though, whether it is doing everything for others or doing all for ourselves and very little for others, then we are out of balance and are not able to feel at peace with ourselves and our lives. As we listen to and act upon both the inner promptings (self/inward) and the outer promptings (others/outward) then the promptings increase and our lives become a positive upward spiral of continuously flowing energy.

I've enjoyed taking a look at some personal development material from a different perspective than many other things that I have read. It has helped me to think of my life and the ways in which I am out of balance and what I can do to improve.

I was also inspired today by an article I happened across about Roni Selig's discovery of the sport of triathlon and why she became a triathlete. It is a heartfelt message that is sure to be appreciated by runners, triathletes and others who aspire to push beyond their perceived limitations. Click here to read it.

Life will present us with challenges, trials and opposition from time to time. It is in those moments that we can choose how we will respond, what we will do (or not do) and which direction we will take our lives.

Often, if we don't know what to do, or which direction to go, it is a good idea to just get out and get moving. That's one of the things I was able to take away from that article.

Enjoy!
