Philosophy
The philosophy that I subscribe to is that we all become what we think about it. We are each 100% responsible for our lives. We are free to choose how to act or not to act, what to think, where to live, where to work, who we associate with, the books we read, the things we listen to, the Church we join, and so on.
All too often people point the fingers of blame at others for their own problems, struggles or seeming mis-fortune. Such blaming is in vain as it produces no positive result and only further entrenches individuals in their negative thought patterns and unwillingness to accept full responsibility for their lives.
One of the greatest principles taught through Landmark Education is that we are all “Cause in the matter” of our lives. Simply meaning that WE are in charge, WE are responsible and our lives are exactly what we have allowed and created them to be. This is a difficult truth for some to accept; especially those who are not particularly pleased with how their life is going.
However, I can attest to the fact that the moment you affirm and accept that you are completely responsible for everything in your life, you get your power back. You then are able to begin taking positive steps that can and will transform your life forever!
I hope to one day be in a position to empower hundreds, thousands and even millions of other people. Whether it be face to face communication or inspiration through written words, the impact is the same. There is a great need to help others to understand the truth about themselves: that they can have, do or be anything. That the only person preventing them from experience all of the beautiful things that life has to offer them is themselves.
This realization can mean the difference between success and failure, happiness and depression, wealth and poverty, service and selfishness.
I’ve been a huge fan of personal development books, events, videos and audio programs for many years now. I have experienced the transforming effects that such materials can have when absorbed and applied on a day to day basis. I know that such materials will continue to serve as a key catalyst to my own success in all areas of my life!
My suggestion: get your hands on whatever you can and begin NOW to read, listen, learn and absorb time-tested principles from the great leaders of the human potential movement. If you aren’t sure where to start then let me recommend just a few names of many that will help you begin to change your thoughts and change your life:
- Jim Rohn
- Napoleon Hill
- Wayne Dyer
- Darren Hardy (Success Magazine)
- Og Mandino
- Dale Carnegie
- Anthony Robbins
- Jack Canfield
- Robin Sharma
- Dave Ramsey
- Brian Tracy
- Denis Waitley
This is only a start and there are so many other incredible teachers and leaders that can have a profound, positive and lasting impact upon your life. One person may resonate more with your mind and heart than another. If so, choose to invite them to be your personal success mentor by reading everything they’ve written, listening to everything they’ve produced and attending whatever events they host.
This is all about investing in ourselves and in our life-long personal education and development. What you learn in school helps you to get a job. What you learn from self-education such as this helps you to become wealthy in ALL areas of your life.
The great Jim Rohn said: “Some people spend more money on the outside of their head than on the inside of their head!”
And I say, “Don’t let that be you!”
