Wai Kalo'i is a subdivision in upper Makakilo in Kapolei, Hawaii on the west side of Oahu, consisting of approximately 275 single family homes, most of which were built between 2005-2007. Streets that are a part of Wai Kalo'i include Kiowainui Place, Luawainui Street, Makakilo Drive, Pueonani Street, Pueonani Place, Pueonani Way and Punawainui Street. The majority of the homes were built by Castle & Cooke Homes Hawaii, Inc.
This community is reached by driving all the way up Makakilo Drive, reaching the top of the hill then following it down the back side of Makakilo Drive until you enter the subdivision. Future Kapolei city design plans call for Upper Makakilo to be linked to the H-1 Freeway at Exit 3, connecting this area more easily with Kualakai Parkway near the UH West Oahu campus and the Kroc Center. If this connection road does come about it will likely take many years before it is constructed and no formal plans or timelines have been announced.
